CRMJ 2366 - Criminal Intelligence
Credit hours: 3
Course Description: This course focuses on the production of intelligence from the analysis of multiple and diverse sources of information. Topics include historical perspective, legality issues, a fundamental understanding of criminal intelligence analysis that includes the production of intelligence information in support of decision-making at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels of law enforcement.
Student Learning Outcomes: Student will be able to:
- Describe the legal direction and authority of intelligence gathering.
- Provide analysis of past and current crime trends to target future crime.
- Apply data into information.
- Distinguish differences between Tactical, Strategic, and Operational Intelligence.
- Contrast links between people, organizations, and events.
- Present intelligence effectively in oral and written reports.
