CRMJ 1385 - Basic Fingerprint Pattern and Identification
Credit hours: 3
Course Description: A study of ridge pattern identification and the physical aspects of fingerprints. Provides the basis for developing techniques for the taking of presentable and classifiable inked impressions. Emphasizes hands-on application of these techniques.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Understand the history and value of fingerprints and their classification.
- Understand and be able to identify the basic fingerprints and their classification.
- Understand the general fingerprint rules.
- Understand the Henry system of classification.
- Demonstrate procedures, equipment, including A.F.I.S technology in developing and enhancing fingerprint evidence.
