CRMJ 1385 - Basic Fingerprint Pattern and Identification

Course Description:
A study of ridge pattern identification and the physical aspects of fingerprints. Provides the basis for developing techniques for the taking of presentable and classifiable inked impressions. Emphasizes hands-on application of these techniques.

Understand the history and value of fingerprints and their classification.
Understand and be able to identify the basic fingerprints and their classification.
Understand the general fingerprint rules.
Understand the Henry system of classification.
Demonstrate procedures, equipment, including A.F.I.S technology in developing and enhancing fingerprint evidence.
