VECT 1430 - Anatomy and Physiology of the Eye
Credit hours: 4
Course Description:
This course is designed to familiarize the student with the structure and function of the various components of the human eye, its adnexa and its extensions to the brain.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- Describe the gross anatomy and function of the eye;
- List and define the refractive media;
- Explain the control of eye movements;
- List tissues of the eye;
- Define the detailed structures of the eyes and their functions;
- Explain the vascularization and innervation of the eye;
- Name the appendages of the eye and describe their function;
- Explain selected ocular pathologies.
