Course Description:
Medical terms, abbreviations combining forms and definitions with associated anatomy. Topics include roots, prefixes, and suffixes commonly used in the medical field and terminology related to all eleven body systems and disorders of those systems.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of:

Analyze and define medical terms
Use medical terms to communicate effectively
Identify the various word parts of medical terminology
Recognize and define common medical symbols, abbreviations, diagnostic tests and procedures
Identify the main structures pertaining to the body and its systems which include integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, sense organs, circulatory and lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive and endocrine
