FIRE 2330 - Fire Behavior and Combustion (CSCC)

Prerequisites: Acceptable placement score of completion of all Learning Support competencies in Reading and Writing.

Course Description:
This course explores the theories and fundamentals of how and why fires start, spread, and how they are controlled.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to: (Need no less than 3 and no more than 5)

Identify physical properties of the three states of matter.
Explain the physical and chemical properties of fire.
Describe and apply the process of burning.
Define and use basic terms and concepts associated with the chemistry and dynamics of fire.
Discuss various materials and their relationship to fires as fuel.
