Course Description:
This course covers surgical nursing, patient prep, surgical instruments, package prep and anesthesia.

Course Competencies:

Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of:

  1. Preparing the Surgical suite for aseptic surgical procedure
  2. Prepare the surgical patient
  3. Perform patient from anesthesia
  4. Assist veterinary surgeon with surgical procedure
  5. Evaluate post-surgical patients
  6. Perform maintenance of surgical and anesthetic equipment
