Course Description:
Provides instruction on the basic principles of Microsoft Excel and various methods of data manipulation, graphing, and report generation. The student learns to use resident functions as well as writing their own functions and can utilize Excel to assist them in completing their assignments or presenting data they have taken and calculations on that data.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion the student will understand and have the ability to apply the principles of:

  1. Spreadsheet creation and cell addressing
  2. Cell Formatting for data types, color, borders
  3. Basic math operations
  4. Using preprogrammed functions
  5. Working with degrees and radians
  6. Working with order of operations and how to modify
  7. Creating functions and complex equations
  8. Using Excel to organize data and perform calculations for lab assignments
  9. Types of graphs and how to interpret them
  10. Plotting data and graphing the results
