Course Description:
This course area covers adhering to safety, health and environmental rules and regulations, operating and monitoring a machine, interpreting machine operation and maintenance documentation and technical drawings, performing machine maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance, selecting and safely using proper hand tools for a task, moving, handling and storing materials and equipment, and selecting systems troubleshooting methods.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will:

Perform preventive maintenance and routine repair
Monitor indicators to ensure correct operations
Perform all housekeeping to maintain production schedule
Recognize potential maintenance issues with basic production systems, including knowledge of when to inform maintenance personnel about problems with:

Electrical systems
Pneumatic systems
Hydraulic systems
Machine automation systems
Lubrication processes
Bearings and couplings
Belts and chain drives
