This is a study of the principles of the American legal system as they relate to the conduct of business in our society. (3 lecture hours/week) Not part of a TN Transfer

Identify sources of law.
Outline the federal judicial system.
Cite common ethical problems in business.
Explain what a tort is and provide several examples.
List the requirements for a valid contract and identify the means of discharging a business contract in the event of a breach.
Understand the difference between real and personal property.
Identify laws that govern landlord-tenant relationships.
Explain the principal-agent relationship.
Identify the different forms of business organizations.
