RESP 2305 - Advanced Respiratory Care Modalities
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: Successful advancement from the previous semester or a Graduate of a CoARC Certification Program or possess the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
Course Description: Advanced Respiratory Care Modalities is an in-depth study of the physiologic and technologic principles of non-invasive and invasive monitoring, pulmonary diagnostic lab testing, chest radiograph, pulmonary rehabilitation, nutrition, clinical laboratory studies and respiratory monitoring in the intensive care unit. 3 hr. Lecture/wk.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Identify chest radiograph abnormalities.
- Describe common techniques used to assess mental status.
- Recognize the interrelationship of nutrition, respiration and pulmonary status.
