RESP 2435 - Arterial Blood Analysis
Credit hours: 4
Prerequisites: Successful advancement from the previous semester.
Course Description: Arterial Blood Analysis provides an in-depth study of the basic physiology of oxygen and carbon dioxide transport, interpretation of arterial blood gas values and their application to patient care. 5 hr. Lecture. 5 hr. Lab/wk.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Interpret common arterial blood gas values.
- Recommend possible therapeutic interventions for specific blood gas values.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of recommended interventions.
