RESP 2480 - Special Projects
Credit hours: 4
Prerequisites: Successful advancement for the previous semester or a Graduate of a CoARC Certification Program or possess the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
Course Description: Special Projects involves independent research projects related to the cardiopulmonary system including, but not limited to, arterial blood gas management, hemodynamics, dysrhythmia recognition, airway management, advanced pharmacology, and patient education. 4 hr. Lecture/wk.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Describe pharmacologic management of pulmonary hypertension.
- Identify indications for non-invasive ventilation.
- Describe strategies for smoking cessation to diverse populations.
