COMM 271 - Introduction to Audio Recording Techniques

Prerequisites: COMM 270 - Audio for Media
Course Description:
This course develops an understanding of the techniques and technology involved in modern multi-track recording and mixing and includes hands on experience, with a lab included.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the basic technology and techniques relating to commercial audio production.
- Demonstrate an ability to perform these techniques in an actual studio environment.
- Master various “roles” common to the studio environment and will have an opportunity to work with and to be exposed to many of the media types available for recording, mixing, and editing audio.
