METC 1341 - HVAC Systems Design

Course Description: An in-depth study of the design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Manual and computerized calculations for the sizing of systems.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
Competency 1: Define and compare/contrast the critical steps in the design of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Competency 2: Perform calculations related to sizing, air flow, heat loss, ductwork, piping, efficiency, electrical power and peak demand.
Competency 3: Complete a design project for a residential and a commercial application.
