ARCT 1100 - Architectural Drawing



Credit hours: 3

Course Description:
This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of graphic representation for communication of architectural concepts, ideas and technical details.  Students will be exposed to a variety of graphic conventions that represent three-dimensional thinking on two-dimensional media.  Topics may include reading construction documents, sketches, adjacency diagrams, construction principles and the use of orthographic projection to create architectural plans, sections, elevations, details and specifications.

Students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the proper use of line weights in drawings
  2. Demonstrate the use of orthographic projection to create plan section and elevation views 
  3. Demonstrate the understanding of one and two point perspective drawings
