ANES 2430 - Anesthesia Technology Clinical 3



Credit hours: 4 hours (180 clinical hours per semester)

Prerequisites: ANES 2401 - Advanced Principles of Anesthesia Technology  

ANES 2402 - Advanced Anesthesia Equipment  

ANES 2420 - Anesthesia Technology Clinical 2  

ANES 2405 - Anesthesia Pharmacology  

 

Corequisites: ANES 2250 - Professional Issues for the Anesthesia Technician  

ANES 2290 - Anesthesia Technology Capstone  

Course Description:
This clinical course takes place in diverse health care settings. The clinical experiences will provide the student with the opportunity to observe and practice the entry level skills with specific anesthesia equipment. The student will observe, obtain and practice at an entry skill level. Hands-on experience will provide technical skills and further application of the theories taught within the classroom. These courses are graded on a pass/fail basis.   (Offered in final semester during first 7-week term)

Student Learning Outcomes:
The successful learner will be able to:

  1. With guidance, set-up, and/or assess efficacy of equipment, medications and technique.
  2. Evaluate the circumstance of the patient, consult with the Anesthesia provider and assist in the care of the patient.
  3. Demonstrate critical thinking skills in caring for the anesthesia patient.
