Program Description: The Funeral Service Education program, upon completion, will prepare students to enter and be successful in the career field of Funeral Services as well as complete and pass both parts of the National Board Examination (NBE) to certify their Funeral Service training.

Program Outcomes:

Pass the National Board Examination (NBE)
Become certified to become a Funeral Service Director.
Conduct and complete the embalming process.

Professional Accrediting Body: American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE).

State Agency/Entity Oversight: Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR)

Applicable Certification/License or Industry-recognized Certificates to Be Awarded: If applicable

Student should be able, after completing the program, to take and successfully pass both sections of the National Board Examination (NBE).

Articulation with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCAT): Currently, there are no courses within TCAT that articulate with the funeral service education program.
