Program Description: 

The mission of the Aviation Maintenance Technology program is to train students for employment as Airframe and Power Plant Maintenance Mechanics. Using FAA approved classroom instruction and practical shop experience, students are taught to inspect, repair, service, sheet metal repair, hydraulic, engine overhaul for both piston and turbine engines. Graduates are eligible to sit for the FAA licensure examinations for the airframe and power plant ratings.

Program Outcomes:   

  • To introduce new students to the career opportunities of aviation maintenance.
  • To emphasize safety in the shop and on the job.
  • To instruct students in the theory and knowledge needed to be successful in the aviation program
  • To introduce and train students on the equipment and tools that is required in the aviation maintenance field.
  • To ensure that every student understands work ethics and responsibilities in the aviation field.
  • To ensure that every student receives relevant industry skill required for employment.
  • To assist the student in preparing for the FAA licensure exams.
  • To assist graduates in locating and successful placement in aviation maintenance.
