Program Description: 

The Dental Laboratory program provides training in equipment and shop safety, dental anatomy, dental materials and fixed and removable prosthetics.  During the program students learn introductory skills in the fabrication of complete dentures, orthodontics, partial dentures, crown and bridge and ceramic restorations.  The program allows a full trimester of focused study and practice of a chosen area in the program.  This focused study allows the student to graduate with an increased level of training allowing a smoother transition into the laboratory workplace.

Program Outcomes: 

  • To introduce new students to the career opportunities of dental technology
  • To train students in the safe operation of laboratory equipment and general work safety
  • To instruct students in the theory and knowledge needed to be successful in Dental Technology 
  • To train students in entry level skills of the field of Dental Technology
  • To introduce and train students on the equipment and tools required in the Dental laboratory field
  • To prepare students with the employability skills needed to obtain and retain employment.
  • To assist graduates in securing employment in the field of dental technology where they will continue to increase their skill level and career
