Program Description:
The IM program is designed to train individuals to properly service, maintain, repair, and/or install equipment for a wide range of industries. Students are provided instruction in theory and skill training necessary for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting and diagnosing the repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. The purpose of the program is to prepare students for a successful career in Industrial Maintenance.
Program Outcomes:
- To introduce new students to career opportunities in Industrial Maintenance.
- To emphasize safety in the shop and on the job.
- To instruct students in theory in areas of Welding, Electrical and Mechanical, and Machine Tooling or HVAC-R
- To train students with basic welding techniques
- To introduce and train students on troubleshooting techniques by using schematic diagrams and test equipment.
- To train student on proper techniques for installing and testing motors and controls circuitry.
- To give students introduction to programming PLCs.
- To train student to recognize hydraulics and pneumatics symbols from schematics and
- Install, test and operate hydraulics and pneumatics system
- To give students basic machining knowledge and understanding.
- To prepare students for EPA licensing.
- To show students proper methods for installing, testing, and replacing AC refrigerants and system
- To assist graduates in locating and successful placement into the Industrial Maintenance field.
