Certified Medical Assistant to Practical Nursing Bridge

The Certified Medical Assistant to Practical Nursing Bridge Program is a 10-month diploma program, which consists of a combination of classroom, laboratory and clinical experiences. These experiences expose the student to the wide variety of tasks and responsibilities required of today’s practical nurse. Students must be certified as a Medical Assistant from an accredited institution to enter the program. Students will be granted credit for the following 216 clock hours of the Practical Nursing Program upon acceptance into the program:

  • LPN 001 Worker Characteristics (3 hours)
  • LPN 1010 Basic Nursing Principles (13 hours)
  • LPN 1020 Fundamentals of Nursing (64 hours)
  • LPN 1030 Administration of Medications and Basic IV Therapy (40 hours)
  • LPN 1040 Basic Anatomy and Physiology (96 hours)
