Program Description:

The Engineering Systems Technology program is designed to provide students with an effective blending of diverse industrial skillsets through a variety of specializations, preparing program completers with the skills needed for immediate entrance into the industrial workforce. Skills emphasized in the program include, but are not limited to: advanced manufacturing applications, computerized design and industrial equipment programming, operations management, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. 

 

Program Outcomes:

 

1. The graduate will have demonstrated an intermediate level of competency with computer applications common to modern industry, including 2-dimensional computer aided drafting software.
2. The graduate will have demonstrated a thorough understanding of industrial safety codes and practices necessary to function safely in an industrial environment.
3. The graduate will have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the various materials used to manufacture products, along with the various manufacturing processes used to convert these materials into finished goods.
4. The graduate will have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Applicable Certification/License or Industry-recognized Certificates to be Awarded:

 

While not required for the degree program, the curriculum covers content related to the Certified Solidworks Associate Exam and the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification Exam. Students may elect to take these exams independently.

 

Articulation with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCAT):

 

It is projected that credit through prior learning assessment can be earned from the following TCAT programs: Drafting and CAD Technology, Industrial Electricity, Industrial Maintenance and Machine Tool Technology.
