CRMJ 2311 - Juvenile Justice
Credit hours: 3
Course Description: This course is an overview of the extent, causes, nature, and control of juvenile delinquency from a sociological perspective. Various theories of delinquency causation, the role of social institutions, the major components of the juvenile justice system and traditional juvenile corrections will be presented.
Student Learning Outcomes: Student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Juvenile Course system; a student should be able to contrast its laws, procedures, and policies with those of an “Adult” court.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the social dynamics that contribute to juvenile crime.
