CRMJ 2312 - Criminology

Prerequisites: CRMJ 1010 - Introduction to Criminal Justice (TTP)
Course Description: This course is a systematic study of crime, criminals and the criminal justice system. It explores the fundamental elements of criminology through a study of the causation and criminal behavior theories and examines the relevant activities of the criminal justice system.
Student Learning Outcomes: Student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the various concepts of crime, law, and criminology.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the various causes of crime and the various theories of crime causation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the various crime typologies and the theories associated with those typologies.
- Develop an understanding of how criminologists cooperate with other disciplines to solve crimes and create policy.
- Develop an understanding of the various perspectives in criminalizing behaviors.
