Course Description:
This course is a systematic study of crime, criminals and the criminal justice system. It explores the fundamental elements of criminology through a study of the causation and criminal behavior theories and examines the relevant activities of the criminal justice system.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Student will be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of the various concepts of crime, law, and criminology.
Demonstrate an understanding of the various causes of crime and the various theories of crime causation.
Demonstrate an understanding of the various crime typologies and the theories associated with those typologies.
Develop an understanding of how criminologists cooperate with other disciplines to solve crimes and create policy.
Develop an understanding of the various perspectives in criminalizing behaviors.
