Course Description: An introduction to the major laws designed to protect human health and the environment and the regulatory agencies that enforce those laws
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Identify federal and state environmental regulatory agencies and their roles
- Discuss technical, economic, and political difficulties in understanding and implementing environmental law
- Describe administrative and enforcement tools available to regulatory agencies
- Define torts and describe those common in the environmental area
- Have a basic understanding of major federal, state and local environmental laws
