EHTC 2311 - Safety and Emergency Response
Credit hours: 3
Course Description: A review of federal, state and local emergency response guidelines and methods for protecting workers in hazardous waste operations and emergency response.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Understand the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 standards
- Be able to develop and implement a Site Safety and Health Plan for hazardous waste operations and emergency response
- Use published standards and criteria to recognize and evaluate hazards
- Select and use personal protective equipment
- Use the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook and NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards
