FIRE 2330 - Fire Behavior and Combustion (CSCC)
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: Acceptable placement score of completion of all Learning Support competencies in Reading and Writing.
Course Description: This course explores the theories and fundamentals of how and why fires start, spread, and how they are controlled.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to: (Need no less than 3 and no more than 5)
- Identify physical properties of the three states of matter.
- Explain the physical and chemical properties of fire.
- Describe and apply the process of burning.
- Define and use basic terms and concepts associated with the chemistry and dynamics of fire.
- Discuss various materials and their relationship to fires as fuel.
