Course Description: This course is designed to help students enhance the essential digital skills needed in today’s workplace to become more effective with technology by covering a foundational understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, and troubleshooting. Mobile Device and Cloud Computing concepts will also be covered. Students will learn to effectively use a computer operating system to perform everyday tasks such as installing software, managing files, and changing system settings. This class will also explore the hardware and components of modern computers and devices, including such peripherals as printers, cameras, scanners, and game controllers. Finally, computing fundamentals will be covered, including examining processes for maintaining computer equipment, protecting hardware from theft or damage, and solving common hardware problems.
