Course Description:
The goal is to ensure the student learns the fundamental concepts and knowledge needed for success in the workplace and develops competencies in administrative and office-supportive tasks such as proper telephone etiquette, filing, records management, mail management skills, and presentation skills. 

Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of: 
 

  • Apply, manually or electronically, organizational and time management principles in scheduling to increase productivity.  

  • Process mail. 

  • Learn to use, maintain, and care for office machines such as copiers, scanners, printers, and fax machines. 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of filing procedures, such as filing rules, filing methods, and record retention.  

  • Demonstrate knowledge of telephone systems and proper telephone etiquette. 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of meeting essentials. 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the process involved in making national and international  
    travel arrangements. Learn about documents associated with travel, such as expense reports and itineraries.

  • Configure and present slide shows using custom slide shows, rehearsing show timing, slide show recording options, and Presenter view.  

  • Modify slides to hide/unhide slides, use backgrounds, and insert headers, footers, and page numbers.  

  • Create, rename, and modify slide ordering using sections.  

  • Embed and link a worksheet using hyperlinks and section zoom links.  

  • Insert, format, and group images, graphic elements, and objects on slides.  

  • Work with charts by embedding a chart and working with additional chart elements.  

  • Embed an organizational chart within the presentation; work with embedded and linked objects and hyperlinks within a presentation.  

  • Insert and format tables, delete/insert table rows and columns, and apply table styles.  

  • Insert and format SmartArt graphics, convert lists to SmartArt graphics, and modify SmartArt graphic content.  

  • Insert and modify 3D models.  

  • Insert, manage, and configure audio video clips and screen recordings.  

  • Apply and configure slide transitions and transition effects.  

  • Animate text and graphic elements, 3D Models, animation effects, and animation paths, and reorder those on a slide.  

  • Export a presentation  

  • Broadcast and rehearse slide timings.
