Course Description: This course delves into the more complex part of networking and how to use a switched LAN architecture. Along with the various protocols, students will learn basic switch concepts including frame forwarding, switch management configuration, and switch security. In addition, students will learn the concepts of subnetting.

Understand configuration, verification and troubleshooting of RIPv1 routing protocol.

Understand the concepts of the VLSM and CIDR, including how to allocate IP addresses according to need rather than by class.

Understand configuration, verification, and troubleshooting of RIPv2 routing protocol.

Understand the structure and lookup process of the routing table and how it is used in verifying and troubleshooting networks.

Understand the configuration, verification, and troubleshooting of EIGRP routing protocol.

Discuss the Switched LAN architecture including the Hierarchichal Network Model.

Apply the concepts involved in setting up a VLAN including VLAN trunking, configuring VLANs and trunks, and troubleshooting.

Understand, explain, and apply the concepts of the STP, RSTP, MSTP, MISTP, PVST, PVST+, and Rapid PVST+ protocols.
