Course Description:
This course provides the student with a foundational understanding of safety practices and regulations in an industrial workplace.  Included in the course content is workplace safety requirements, in depth study of causes of workplace accidents advanced workplace safety protocols associated with welding and industrial maintenance work environments.  Instructional content from the Tooling U learning management system will be used to teach this course.    

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Demonstrate understanding workplace safety protocols required in an industry setting. 

  1. Identify proper PPE necessary for industrial job functions. 

  1. Develop a shop safety plan for the workplace. 

  1. Show evidence of applying lock out-tag out procedures in a workplace.   

  1. Identify the first-aid procedures necessary for an industry emergency. 

  1. Identify the procedures necessary for meeting the needs of general industry safety.
