Course Description:
This course provides students with instruction on the design, installation and service of residential Heat Pump systems.

  1. Describe the operation of the reversing valve.  

Types of Heat Pumps  

  1. Explain the operation of an air source heat pump.  

  1. Explain the operation of a dual fuel heat pump.  

  1. Describe how a geothermal heat pump works.  

Servicing a heat pump  

  1. Discuss how to check the charge in a heat pump.  

  1. Discuss how to check the defrost board in a heat pump.  

  1. Discuss how to test the operation of the reversing valve.
