Course Description:
Provides instruction in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair pf hydraulic and pneumatic systems common to all manufacturing, commercial and industrial facilities.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  1. Applies proper techniques for safely installing, maintaining and troubleshooting systems to include hydraulic valves, pumps, actuators and associated hydraulic components.
  2. Applies proper techniques for safely installing, maintaining and troubleshooting pneumatic systems to include air compressors, pneumatic valves, actuators and associated pneumatic components.
  3. Understands the need for preventive maintenance and the proper techniques for checking a system to reduce downtime.
  4. Can utilize pressure gauges and flowmeters to gather data.
  5. Utilizing gathered data can determine proper pressures, flows, force, and stroke times to determine efficiency of a fluid power system.
  6. Understands how to read and interpret fluid power and electro-fluid power schematics.
  7. Interprets piping drawings to correctly size, cut and assemble pipes according to the dimensions required.
