IEM 5050 - Advanced Motor Control

Course Description:
Provides instruction on specialized motor controls for servomotors and stepper motors as well as troubleshooting associated with these motors and drives/controls.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion the student will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate Advanced Motor Control PLC Programming Methods
  2. Explain Variable Frequency Drive Programming Techniques
  3. Apply Control of VFD with the use of PLC Programming Methods
  4. Explain servomotors, stepper motors, and their associated drive systems.
