IMI 2020 - Motor Control Methods

Prerequisites: IMI 2010
Course Description: The students will receive instruction in low-voltage control methods currently used in industrial and commercial settings. The students receive this instruction through text books, workbooks, lecture, interactive computer programs and lab assignments using a variety of different type motors and control devices.
Student Learning Outcomes: Competencies:
- Read, interpret and follow the motor’s nameplate.
- Wire 2–wire and 3-wire manual control for a 3 phase motor.
- Wire 2-wire and 3-wire manual control for a 1 phase motor.
- Install and wire remote stop/start control stations.
- Install and wire an HOA Control station.
- Wire a Forward/Reverse/Stop Control Station.
