Course Description:
The goal of the course is to show the students various tools and materials and installation techniques associated with masonry and to prepare them for entrance into the workforce with this skill.

Tools and Materials
- Demonstrate the ability to use various Hand Tool needed for Masonry.
- Demonstrate the ability to Mix Mortar Properly.
- Describe the different Brick and Block types.
Installation
- Demonstrate the Knowledge of Brick Layout and Installation.
- Demonstrate the Knowledge of Block Layout and Installation.
Concrete
- Identify the properties of cement.
- Describe the composition of concrete.
- Perform volume estimates for concrete quantity requirements.
- Identify types of concrete reinforcement materials and describe their uses.
- Identify various types of footings and explain their uses.
- Identify the parts of various types of forms.
- Explain the safety procedures associated with the construction and use of concrete forms.
- Erect, plumb, and brace a simple concrete form with reinforcement.
