Course Description: The Nutrition Section is designed to give you an overview of basic nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. Nutrition is an important aspect of a Dietary Managers job. As a Dietary Manager, you will have to talk with clients about nutrition in the absence of a Dietitian, but to do so you have to know the basics. Nutrition is the science of food. Good health and what you eat goes hand and hand. The nutrients in foods provide energy, promote growth and maintenance, regulate the body processes such as keeping your heart pumping and the lungs breathing, and help to combat many disease states.
