HMGT 1040 - Front Office Procedures

Course Description: This course examines both the operation of a rooms department of a typical full-service or selective-service facility and the theoretical applications of all revenue center operations including yield management and other vital hotel functions, with emphasis on the control function of management.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Understand the front office guest cycle.
- Comprehend the sales dimension of the reservations process and identify the tools managers use to track and control reservations.
- Understand the steps of the registration process and discuss creative registration options.
- Identify typical service requests that guests make at the front desk.
- Identify functions and procedures related to the check-out and account settlement process.
- Understand the steps in the front office audit process.
- Comprehend the concept of revenue management.
