Program Description: 
Medical Informatics is the interdisciplinary study of the design, development, adoption and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, management and planning. This program will provide a pathway for students who are interested in a career in Medical Informatics as either a technician or developer.  

 

 

Program Outcomes: 

  1. Use computer applications to assemble and analyze patient data for the purpose of improving patient care or controlling costs.
  2. Create and maintain database management systems applicable to healthcare.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of state, and federal laws regarding the management of  

      protected health information. 

  1. Perform computer programming for information technology used in healthcare.
