EETC 2370 - Fiber Optics & Cabling
Credit hours: 3
Course Description: An introduction to optical fiber as another medium in which information can be transmitted, received, multiplexed, demultiplexed and distributed.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a proficiency in understanding basic optical terms and concepts.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics and operations of both LEDs and LASER diodes.
- Demonstrate a proficiency in cable and fiber preparation, connectorization, fusion, splicing and terminating to required standard.
