Prerequisites: Level 2 placement or higher in Math or concurrent enrollment in MATH 0845
Industry Certifications Level One Certification for NCCER Electrical Training
Course Description: Topics include electrical safety, theory, introduction to the NEC, hand bending, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, basic electrical construction drawings, electrical test equipment.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Identify and demonstrate safe practices and practical skills involved in the electrical field.
- Solve DC circuits in construction drawings through calculation and theory
- Identify trade terms, applications, and control systems
- Identify and apply the National Electrical Code and its applications
- Demonstrate the safe and proper use of electrical test equipment
