CITC 2329 - Routing and Switching I
Course Description: This course introduces students to the networking field of standard routing utilizing industry standard technology and hardware. Topics include Network terminology, Network protocols, Local-area networks (LANs), Wide-area networks (WANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) model, Cabling, Routers, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, and Network standards.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Perform basic binary and related networking math and sub-netting.
- Identify types of networks, network devices, and network protocols and their functions.
- Explain both the OSI and TCP/IP reference models of networking.
