Course Description:
The goal of the course is to improve the essential worker characteristics of students to prepare them for entrance into the workforce The course is based around the ten traits that have been identified as being needed to foster positive work habits  
 

Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of: 

  1. Identify basic objectives to guide your study of the medical language 

  1. Divide medical words into their component parts 

  1. Learn the meanings of basic combining forms, suffixes, and prefixes of the medical language 

  1. Use these combining forms, suffixes, and prefixes to build medical words 

  1. Define new suffixes and review those presented in previous chapter 

  1. Gain practice in word analysis by using these suffixes with combining forms to build and understand terms 

  1. Identify the functions of the different types of ways to put medical words together using suffixes, 

  1. Define basic prefixes used in medical language 

  1. Analyze medical terms that combine prefixes and other word elements 

  1. Define and Identify Medical Abbreviations through weekly spelling quiz forms 

  1. Use proper abbreviations and symbols with medical documentation
