Course Description: This course introduces the student to essential skills required for the typical medical office in the areas of keyboarding, computer literacy, patient reception, appointment monitoring and scheduling, medical records preparation and maintenance, developing written correspondence, and mail processing.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Learn computerized patient and insurer billing practices including the use of International Classification of Diseases codes.
- Enter transactions to the patients’ accounts.
- Print bills to mail to patients.
- Print and mail insurance forms.
- Print financial and other reports.

13. Enter orders into computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system.
