Course Description:
Although procedures, products, and styles have changed, eye, eyelash, and eyebrow enhancements have been a part of beautification for thousands of years. Artificial lashes as we know them may have existed for a fraction of this time, but eyelash extensions themselves are over 100 years old, with their own history of innovation and cultural influence. Knowledge of the evolution of eye enhancements will help eyelash technicians understand and appreciate the trends of today, including their own place in this growing industry. Eyelash technicians should study and have a thorough understanding of eyelash extension history and careers because:

• Many older methods of eye, eyelash, and eyebrow enhancement have evolved into techniques still used today.

• Knowing eyelash extension history helps you understand beauty trends and their origins.

• It’s important to recognize the limits of the eyelash technician’s scope of practice.
