PCP 1030 - Nursing Assistant Clinical

Course Description:
This course will enable the PCP student to understand the structures that make up the human body systems and the basic principles of how they function on both the micro and macro level. 

Student Learning Outcomes:
Under the supervision of the clinical instructor, the student shall have satisfactorily demonstrated the following skills: 

  1. Measuring / recording vital signs 

  1. Determining / recording height and weight 

  1. Transferring, position, and turning clients 

  1. Performing Range of motion exercises 

  1. Obtaining accurate intake and output 

  1. Bathing / skin care 

  1. Mouth care 

  1. Dressing 

  1. Toileting 

  1. Assist with eating and hydration 

  1. Proper feeding techniques 

  1. Perineal care 

  1. Catheter care 

  1. Bed making 

  1. Nail care 

  1. Hair care 

  1. Back rub 

  1. Hand washing 

  1. Removal of foreign body airway obstruction 

  1. Assist with ambulating per cane, walker, and crutches 

  1. Don gown, gloves, and mask 

  1. Prepare an enema
