Course Description: The goal of the course is to teach the student the skills for mechanical assembly. The student will learn about many types of bolts, wrenches, and other fittings that are commonly used in industrial applications.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of:
- Introduction to Tools and Fabrication
- Define Threaded and non-threaded fasteners.
- Define the construction and the specification of bolts.
- Recognize and apply the function and operation of a variety of wrenches.
- Recognize and apply the function and operation of screwdrivers.
- Recognize and apply the function and operation of Pliers and locking devices.
- Apply the use of a hammer to perform a task.
- Learn the application of key fasteners, clevis pins, and taper pins, shear pins, and slotted pins.
