PFP 3011 - NCCER Pipefitting Level 3

Clock Hours: 100

Delivery Mode
on-ground

Prerequisites: PFP 2011/NCCER Pipefitting Level 2

Industry Certifications Pipefitting and Plumbing Technician

Course Description:
Pipefitting level 3 covers pipe support systems, aboveground installation, mathematical calculations, and industry standards. Students learn the proper installation of hangers and supports, techniques for measuring and assembling aboveground pipe runs, essential mathematical formulas for takeouts and offsets, and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Emphasis is placed on practical applications of geometry and trigonometry, proper documentation of project modifications, and quality assurance in pipeline construction.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

Identify and describe various pipe hangers.

Identify and describe various pipe supports.

Explain how to determine the placement of pipe hangers and supports.

Explain how to interpret pipe hanger and support information found on drawings.

Identify and describe common pipe hanger suspension hardware.

Identify and describe how to install toggle bolts and concrete anchors.

Explain how to fabricate a pipe hanger or support bracket.

Identify and describe variable spring can supports.

Identify and describe constant spring can supports
