Course Description: The goal of the course is to improve the knowledge of tools and materials in the construction trade to help students prepare for entrance into the workforce.

- Demonstrate the ability to use a Measuring Tape.
- Demonstrate the ability to use a Utility Knife.
- Demonstrate the ability to use a Hammer.
- Demonstrate the ability to use all types of Squares.
- Demonstrate the ability to use a Leveling Device.
- Identify the hand tools commonly used by carpenters and describe their uses.
- Use hand tools in a safe and appropriate manner.
- State the general safety rules for operating all power tools, regardless of type.
- State the general rules for properly maintaining all power tools, regardless of type.
- Identify the portable power tools commonly used by carpenters and describe their uses.
- Use portable power tools in a safe and appropriate manner.
