EMCH 1401 - Mechanical Transmissions

Prerequisites: None
Course Description: Mechanical Transmissions as applied to industrial electrical/electromechanical applications.
Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:
- Understand and apply principles of torque, power, speed, friction, work and force.
- Perform basic calculations for areas, volumes, weights, gear train ratio, belt and chain ratio, etc.
- Disassemble, identify components, and reassemble various types of gearboxes, bearings, drive couplings, belt and chain drives.
- Demonstrate application and troubleshooting techniques as related to an industrial environment.
